Psalm 145:21

A friend posted this video on her Facebook page.  It is incredible!  Be sure to watch it with your kids (not scarey). It is a murmuration.  Never heard of a murmuration before?  Nor had I.

It is a group of starlings. Murmuration is the collective noun for starlings.

There's your vocabulary word of the day.

This article explains that this dance of Scottish starlings signals the coming of winter and is baffling to scientists:
Even complex algorithmic models haven’t yet explained the starlings’ acrobatics, which rely on the tiny bird’s quicksilver reaction time of under 100 milliseconds to avoid aerial collisions—and predators—in the giant flock.
Aftering viewing such a beautiful dance, and it immediately reminded me of this verse in the Bible:

My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord.  Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever. -Psalm 145:21 (emphasis added)
This is one example of how nature glorifies and praises God.  The seasons change, the birds have successfully migrated from the cold reaches of Russia and Scandanavia, and they are praising the Lord.  Creation glorifying its creator.

Beautiful.
